Our Story
Sydney Food Stylist is …
the magical, beautiful, colourful and whimsical world of Sydney-based creative Yael Barkhan.
Yael's creative side has always shone in everything she's done. After leaving school, she studied to be a speech and drama teacher and then furthered her education in marketing, PR, design and fashion. She worked in the film and entertainment industry but soon found a passion for floristry and event styling which she spent over a decade doing.
Yael has designed and themed stylish parties, weddings, private events, PR launches and kids' parties.
She always offered grazing tables and dessert bars as an add-on to her events and before long these became her signature.
Food is her absolute passion. Cooking and creating in the kitchen feels like home and making a feast for family and friends is when she's in her 'happy place'! She has four boys to feed at home (her husband and three sons) that keeps her busy.
Styling and shooting food is when she (in her own words) "disappears into my magical creative place. It's my soul food. Making food look even more delicious through styling and display is a space that just fits with me. After all, we eat with our eyes!"
